Each FLEX I/O module requires a terminal base unit that snaps onto the DIN Rail to the
right of the I/O adapter. The terminal bases provide terminal connection points for I/O
wiring and plug together to form the backplane. Terminal base connects FLEX I/O
module to the I/O bus and field devices enabling module removal and insertion under
power.
